Like many chronic illnesses, chrons can actually go into remission. You will always have chrons , but you might find that you feel healthy enough to forget you have an auto-immune disease. However, you will also go through periods of time when your chrons is mildly, moderately, or severely flaring up. Then, you need to know what to do when your chrons is active.
When your chrons is active, it will be up to you to figure it out. Otherwise, if you wait until you get sick enough to go to the doctor, the symptoms and the treatment will both be much worse. You do not want to ignore a problem, until it lands you in the hospital or you cannot function to go to work, take care of your kids, or have any decent quality of life. |

Living with Crohns Disease |

If you have recently been diagnosed with crohns , you probably feel like you have been handed some sort of death sentence. It is pretty scary to be told you have a chronic auto-immune disease. Plus, the symptoms are not exactly kind. However, despite what you may be thinking at this moment, it is much better than being diagnosed with cancer. You will not always be so sick. You will have good days and bad days. Hopefully, when you get the crohns under control, you will have more good days. If the doctor finds the right combination of treatments, you may actually forget you have crohns sometimes. Living with crohns disease, and having a happy life, is possible.
Your AttitudeAnytime an individual suffers from a chronic or major illness, health care workers will tell you that a positive outlook is half of the battle. |

Chrons Disease and your Job |

You have been diagnosed with chrons disease . You have many of the classics symptoms of chrons and you are understandably exhausted. But, life does not stop because you have learned that you will have to deal with a chronic illness for the rest of your life. You have a family, a home, and a job. Your life cannot stop to accommodate this illness. You have people that need you and bills to pay. So, one of the many concerns is how chrons disease will affect your job and the ability to keep working.
The AlternativeIn all honesty, some individuals are so debilitated by chrons that they simply cannot work outside the home. Having the bathroom in close proximity is an absolute necessity. |
